Visit

The National Children's Museum is located at National Harbor in Prince George's County, Maryland, just a short drive from downtown Washington, D.C. and its surrounding suburbs.

Museum Hours

The National Children's Museum is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Summer Hours

From May 31 through June 29, the museum will offer extended hours (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) every Friday. Additional summer hours may be announced at a later date.

School Groups

The Museum hosts school groups Tuesday-Friday during the following 90-minute sessions: 10-11:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 1-2:30 p.m. Please note that the Museum may be at a higher capacity during these times.

Admission & Ticket Info

Standard admission is $10 per child or adult, and there is no cost of admission for infants 12 months or younger. NCM members enjoy free admission year-round. Senior tickets (age 65 and over) are available for $8 with valid identification.

Military Mondays

Active duty military and their families will each receive half off their admission on all non-holiday Mondays. This discount is valid for up to six tickets.

AAA Discount

AAA members and their families will receive $1 off admission with valid identification.

Purchasing Tickets

Tickets may be purchased online here or in-person at the box office. If you purchase your tickets online, please plan to show a valid photo identification AND your printed ticket or e-ticket (on your smartphone) when checking in at our front desk.

When planning your visit, please check our calendar to see if timed entry will be in effect. We implement our timed entry policy on days when we expect the Museum to reach capacity.

Note: While NCM Members are exempt from the timed entry policy during capacity days, timed entry DOES apply to members from other museums who are taking advantage of the ACM Reciprocal Network.

It is the policy of the National Children's Museum that all adults must be accompanied by children in their authorized care, or by a staff member.
